Google Ads to the rescue!

Here's a transcript of a chat I had with my wife the other day.  Fairly innocuous:

Here are the ads Google popped up beside that transcript:

Microsoft Ads

Those new Jerry Seinfeld / Bill Gates ads are kind of like waiting for Microsoft Office to start up: they'll probably reach their destination eventually, but in the meantime, it's just kind of painful waiting around.

Baby shopping

Gayu and I have been shopping for our pending baby. For kicks, we decided to check out Babies "R" Us, to see if they have the stuff we saw elsewhere for cheaper. Turns out they didn't, but they did have stuff made by companies with names you would automatically associate with babies:

Bandwidth

I wish Speakeasy would allow me to see my bandwidth usage, but they don't, so you have to open a service ticket to find out. After hearing all the brouhaha about bandwidth caps, I asked Speakeasy what I'd used for the last few months. Here's the answer:

Month Download Upload
May 10,229,176,868 2,670,914,929
June 9,597,782,717 2,337,219,347
July 9,774,656,231 2,409,028,099
August 8,164,069,864 1,035,803,541

I think the drop in August is because that was when I finally finished migrating everything away from the server in my garage. The August measurement was only up to August 28th, too.
